Arts & Cultural Committee

Mission:

Arts and Cultural Committee mission is to involve students with the arts and its different forms of expressions, both socially and professionally. The club seeks to foster an ongoing relationship between professional and academic arts institutions

Objective:

Cultural Coordination Committee is working with an objective of giving a holistic approach to professional higher education. The Committee intends to create an atmosphere, which is intellectually and aesthetically stimulating for the community on the campus. In the pursuit of its objective, cultural and intellectual activities are held.

The Committee also organizes workshops, seminars, lectures, demonstrations and stage performances on various topics relating to Humanities for the community and the general public.  The activities are informal and are intended to sensitize the academic world to other dimensions of human experience and knowledge, with the hope that this would enrich the lives of students and make them aware of their social responsibilities and understand the implications of their actions. The Committee’s activities are also aimed to orient them towards standards of equality, justice and a humanist culture.  These activities are held throughout the year and eminent people in their respective fields are invited from all over India and abroad to take part in program.

The main responsibility of this committee is to ensure smooth conduct of cultural festival, selecting RISE team to participate in Inter University Cultural festivals and organizing various cultural programmes on the campus.

The Committee also organizes workshops, seminars, lectures, demonstrations and stage perform.ances on various topics relating to Humanities for the community and the general public.

Some of the areas picked by the Committee to provide exposure to the students are:

  1. Local theatrical arts
  2. Literature, music, painting, cinema and other fine arts
  3. History and philosophy of science
  4. Cultural responses to globalization
  5. Ecology and environment
  6. Culture, religion and philosophy
  7. Functional knowledge of local and foreign languages

Responsibilities:

  1. The Cultural Committee shall be responsible for all intra and inter collegiate cultural events in the College.
  2. To plan and schedule cultural events for the academic year. (Tentative dates to be included in the academic calendar of the institute.)
  • The Convener of the committee shall conduct a meeting of the committee to discuss and delegate tasks.
  1. The committee shall display on the Notice Board/Website information about the events to be celebrated.

Duties:

  1. To prepare the Annual Budget for various cultural events.
  2. To obtain formal permission from the College authorities to arrange programs.
  3. To decide the date, time and agenda of the programs.
  4. To inform members of staff and students about the events.
  5. To arrange the venue and logistics (audio/video system, dais, podium etc).
  6. To invite the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
  7. To arrange mementos for guests and gifts/certificates for the participants.

The Cultural Committee shall also be responsible for organizing Independence Day, Republic Day and Women’s Day Celebrations.
